Towerstars Ravensburg. Ice hockey and laser show – a powerful team

Video clip below.

Ice sports and ice hockey have been available in Ravensburg in the “Original” since 1881, the founding year of the Ravensburg Ice Sports Club.

This makes Ravensburg the second oldest ice sports club in Germany and has a very long tradition in the “towers city”.

Between 1958 and 2003, the Ice Sports Club used the open-air stadium St. Christina Hang, which has long been legendary today. The new Ravensburg Ice Sports Hall opened in 2003 and is named CHG Arena.

After 11 years of abstinence, Ravensburg has been playing in the 2nd Bundesliga/DEL 2 again since 2007. In 2007, the professional department was spun-off into EVR Towerstars GmbH.

Successes include reaching the semifinals of the 2nd Bundesliga in 2009 and 2010 championships of the top league, the regional league and reaching the quarter finals of the German Ice Hockey Cup.

As a special highlight and as a “thank you” to their fans, the decision-makers of the ice hockey team Towerstars came up with a very exceptional idea for the 27th January 2019. So they unceremoniously surprised the fans with a special laser show before the match.

Inspired by American sporting events, LPS Laser systems created a powerful laser show for the ice hockey team Towerstars in Ravensburg Germany in close cooperation with the team of Claus Bauhofer, the Maxx Group.

In weeks of preparation, eight Spike RGB show lasers with 7 W power each, were used for the colorful and arena filling laser beam show. The beam show was created specifically with the LPS-RealTIME Pro laser software and adapted to the arena. Another four 20 W LPS-Bax RGB and two 15 W LPS-Bax RGB were used exclusively for logos, text and laser mapping of the entire field. Several hundred meters of cables had to be laid at nine meters height, 14 RealLANs had to be combined, and several wind and smoke machines were installed.

LPS Laser systems and MaxxGroup got support from Flexisound and Fischer, two well-known companies in the event industry.

The grandiose mood of Towerstars’ fans fitted perfectly the successful laser show spectacle.

Founded in 1993, LPS Laser Systems is a leading manufacturer of premium laser show systems, laser shows, software, modules and important partner at multimedia events worldwide. With its headquarters in Ofterdingen, South-West Germany, LPS is setting standards in customized laser projects.
